The Freewheeler range, like so many other good ideas was created to meet a need.In our case it was for a user-friendly family car to transport our son Cameron in his electric wheelchair.

Having spent a working lifetime in the motor industry at factory level followed by many years as a metropolitan Ford dealer we had the right background and certainly the right motivation.A major priority was to avoid the "Big White Van" concept which at that time was the norm for those with a wheelchair user in the family.

The arrival of the first Holden SB Combo in the mid 90's provided a compact vehicle which would do the job and so the first "Freewheeler" was born, the name suggesting it provided "Freedom for wheelers".

Further models based on the Citroen Berlingo and Holden XC Combo followed, then the Renault Kangoo finally arrived in Australia. Already the largest selling wheelchair-accessible car in Europe, our Freewheeler Kangoo model has taken Australia by storm and is now Australia's top-selling compact wheelchair-accessible car.

Working closely with Renault Australia, we have shipments arriving from France on a regular basis to meet growing production schedules and also have excellent working relationships with other vehicle manufacturers who provide the differing vehicles we convert.

For large families or for those with two wheelchairs we offer the Fleetworks Van models based on the larger vans which are fitted out with the same attention to ease of use and functionality applied to all of our vehicles.

Fleetworks Mobility offers a One-Stop-Shop for wheelchair-accessible vehicles, as we handle everything from sourcing the appropriate vehicle through to modification, certification, registration and delivery of the finished product to your door.

We have also developed the Freewheeler Motor Insurance Package designed specifically around our products and their application, providing relevant cover at competitive rates.
